LIFE IN ONE CUBIC FOOT

The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s traveling exhibition “Life in One Cubic Foot” illuminates the findings of NMNH scientist and photographer David Liittschwager as they explore what a cubic foot of land or water — a biocube — reveals about the diversity of life on the planet. Each of the samples, which were placed worldwide, typically yielded more than 100 species. March 18-June 11
