If you’re frequently an early morning visitor at the Kimbell Art Museum during the spring, chances are you’ve spotted the feathered fowl taking advantage of the water features. The ducks have been regulars for years; their appearance is welcomed by the museum staffers who watch them from afar (our feathered friends are experts at social distancing). Get too close, and they gracefully take flight, circle and return to a more secluded spot. Sometimes they prefer the fountains off the main lawn; other times they find more solitude in the ponds and courtyard where they have a view of the basalt Isamu Noguchi sculpture. Sometimes they’re with friends, other times they’re solo. But we’re always happy to see them.
