Circle Theatre Sundance Square 230 W. 4th St., 817-877-3040, circletheatre.com
Blind Lemon Jefferson is a musical legend and a bit of an enigma. The sightless bluesman discovered in Dallas on a Deep Ellum street corner in 1925 proceeded to make more than 80 records in the next four years (he died in December 1929). Jefferson inspired countless blues, jazz and rock musicians. Writers Alan Govenar and Akin Babatunde wrote an earlier musical about his life; this follow-up uses monologues and music to dig deeper into the singer’s life and psyche. Feb. 2-11
